You can change the color of the text by selecting the whole text and clicking the color in the color palette. The envelope effect can do a little better, but it's really difficult to get results that look proper. How do I change the shape of text in CorelDRAW Select the pick tool (shortcut key F10) and select the shape around which you want your name or text followed by selecting Text > Fit text to path. The letter rotation tends to look a bit more natural. I tried the envelope tool but its not giving me the desired look i need. Ill later add text to that arced shape which i know i can use the fit text tool to give me that shape. When you enable the Proportional check box, any resizing of the object is based on this new ratio. Honestly i cant believe i cant figure this out, but all i want to do is arc a rectangle halfway around a circle. I tend to get the best results with the standard Text on Path effect by using really condensed or compressed typefaces and giving the letters pretty wide spacing. The new values that you enter to stretch an object are the basis for a new ratio of the horizontal and vertical dimensions of the object. Any letters that are wide at all look horrible applied in a Text on Path effect. The results often end up looking pretty wacky because the effect is only rotating the letters and often not doing the best job of it either. I am not fond of the standard Text on Path effects within CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator for the reasons you describe.
